Highly unlikely. Not impossible, but unlikely.
As has been said, the police are looking to obtain as much information as possible to create reliable victim profiles.
It is possible that any of those people who knew the victims, including fellow students at university, might be able to provide information which would lead to the discovery of a motive.

Maybe just like the above case? A (or more) psycho(s) did that but no connection with anyone in the Institution?
How terrible it is. Reminded me of the Taylors College case. But this one 's much bloodier.
