Well to be honest there'll probably be no real benefit either way if you do or don't do General Mathematics when it comes to university courses. University courses, when it comes to a lower level of maths, will generally have it as a recommendation and you can usually learn such maths through free services at the university. It only really becomes a prerequisite for some higher level of maths. I mean really the only way General Mathematics will help you much in university is if you're doing a course that has some basic statistics. For example i heard you can do accounting even with general maths (apologises if that fact is wrong), although i'm not stating that i want to pursue a career in accounting, just giving an example. It's very hard to pick either modern or pdhpe. I have same passion, same skill, although I kind of dislike/ would rather not be writing essays 24/7. This doesn't mean i hate writing essays, I just prefer not to write them. It's really just the knowledge i have of history that excels me to the top. Meanwhile with pdhpe, I don't really like science (heard that pdhpe involves science). This basically, for me, brings it to a 50/50.
As for Modern History or PDHPE, it seems it comes down to which one you feel you have a better capability of doing well in. However you saying that you prefer not to write essays might mean you should go for PDHPE, since before I was under the impression you were neutral with them.
