Hi all,
I was thinking of applying for an academic scholarship to Mac uni and was wondering if there was anyone else who was or has before and was successful. I just wanted some tips on what is the most important things in the application e.g. academic ability or extra curricular.
I talked a lot about volunteering, mentoring experience and my motivations to learn.
I got an atar of 99+ but its still below the cuttoff for usyd and unsw law.
also my school was unable to provide a reference because its a bit late so will that be a big problem?
I would like to apply but I know a lot of 99+ students who were rejected from this scholarship which seems such a shame but I suppose they do want all-rounders.
Also, if you were successful, do they tell you before the main round offers. Because say I put mac uni preference first to up my chances of receiving a scholarship but they reject the scholarship but still take me (because I got the atar requirement) I would feel a bit fooled because I could of had a chance at applying for maybe usyd or UTS which had higher atar requirements than mac uni for the course I was considering.
Thanks
