Is very competitive to get into unsw engineering? Has anyone gotten into like electricla or mechanical engineering in the first round with an atar around low 80s? Or are u forced to get an atar of 90 to get in?

Someone I know told me he got an 80s ATAR and was shocked to get into engineering, remember they apply a lot of bonus points depending on your performance in certain subjects

i got portfolio entry for unsw engineering - got to choose any degree from compsci-engineering degrees and only need an 85 for the conditional offer. go for round 2... u stand a good chance there to be honest

further --> anything with a 9 in front for your atar you stand a good chance

do the portfolio, they have 5 adjustment points for some subjects.. for some reason a band 5 in adv eng gives you 3 points in engineering but not law which is crazy coz all my life i heard eng=law.
i have a mate who got cs and failed alot of subjects and changed to a crappier school and got engineering through gateway which is fd up.

all in all, dont apply so i have a better chance please.
