    S1 Marks

Holy shit..... I actually passed everything. MATH2011 - 59 MATH2901 - 66 I know for a fact my raw mark for both would have been below 50, and I assumed I would have failed so I was just about to re-enrol in both of them...... So god damn happy right now.

    The McDonald's Thread

Re: Mcdonalds interview hehe, looks like there's a little subculture of maccas managers on BOS. I'm 19, shift supervisor in NSW at a McOpCo store and I get $18.80, but I reckon I earn every cent of it. Managers always get payed for 8 hour shifts but on average I probably do about 10...

    Unavoidable --ing clashes

I don't get why they'd do that.... Surely it makes more sense to run it at the same time that they run the standard level? Or is it that perhaps both courses are always taken by one lecturer?

    Unavoidable --ing clashes

Turns out it's impossible to enrol in Complex Analysis and Several Variable Calculus, because each course has only one lecture stream and the little fuckers overlap. Also, there is no combination of the higher streams of these courses that can be taken to avoid this clash. To top it off...

    McDonalds or KFC?

I've heard that happens to quite a few people, I was the opposite though. I'm a manager at maccas so I get it for free. I'm also a uni student so any food I eat I pay for and cook myself. The result is maccas for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, every day (with the occasional kebab from across...

    MATH1231/1241 Exam

What makes it harder than normal complex analysis?

    MATH1231/1241 Exam

If you do education you have to do History of Mathematics - Look at this: The development of mathematical ideas has often been very slow and at times tortuous, but nearly always interesting. The finished product which is presented at secondary school and in University courses often hides much...

    MATH1231/1241 Exam

Science/Education. Having serious second thoughts about the Education component though, finding it boring as hell.... Only really did it as a back up because I wasn't sure where I'd end up just doing a Maths degree. Looking at majoring in Applied Maths though. You're doing Adv. Science right?

    MATH1231/1241 Exam

But still, if you can handle the higher course you might as well do it. I'm definately going to take up higher subjects next year I think... provided my prediction isn't completely wrong and I end up getting a shit mark (which has happened before :S)

    MATH1231/1241 Exam

I really wish I took the higher course.... Didn't do much work at all for 1231 but I think I got about 70-80% I had Chi Mak as well. In all honesty it took me 3 weeks (so 6 lectures) to sit through an entire lecture without briefly falling asleep. The difference in the lecturers I had for...

    Trouble enrolling MATH1231

Yeah, Trenery mentioned that in the email, said it would be a major problem if I was considering a maths major (which I am) because I would miss complex numbers. I don't really think it will be a problem though, I did complex numbers in high school, and I was enrolled in MATH1251 for the...

    Trouble enrolling MATH1231

I emailed him yesterday, and got a response a bit later. He spent about 2 paragraphs explaining how MATH1151 and MATH1131 are completely different since MATH1151 goes into a lot more depth and they also cover different topics, and how students are supposed to do 1131+1231 or 1151+1251 etc...

    Trouble enrolling MATH1231

Heya, last year I completed MATH1151 while in a BCommerce degree, and have since decided I didn't want to do commerce any more, so swapped to BSci/BEd. Anyways, I need to do the second maths course for stage 1, and was trying to enrol in MATH1231 for semester 2, but it says I can't because I...

    fitting in 2 majors

Does anyone know what the deal is if you're majoring in maths? It seems when you look up information on this sort of stuff they say something along the lines of "for any science degree you need to do this, this, and this.... unless you are majoring in maths", but they never really elaborate...

    3/4 Time Uni

Yeah, I'm working part time at the moment and have full-time uni, and it's quite fucking ridiculous, that's why I'm considering the drop in hours.
