Soo I'm thinking of taking up Postgraduate Diploma of Translating (part time). Has anyone done any translating units at UMac before? I'm just wondering if all lectures are recorded, if lecturers are decent (especially for Japanese) and if UMac has ok reputation in this area of study. TIA :wavey:

hey, sorry your plan didn't work out. i'm coping with 5 units/sem workload so far, its stressful but doable - but i think i'm only saying this cause 2 of the units i'm doing now have no course reader and there's no regular lecture/tutorial! i'm doing remedies atm, it's mind-numbingly boring...

well another lecture failed to record... the second one that's crucial for my upcoming assignment. and the lecturer hasn't even re-recorded the first one. i attended all the lectures but still it'd be nice to be able to re-listen to the important ones :(

just out of curiosity, what do people think of echo (the one that replaced ilecture)? personally i find it frustrating - last week and this week 2 lectures weren't recorded and one of them is relevant for the first assignment! /rant

this semester is going to be my hardest - i'll be doing 5 law subjects, volunteering and also working 1 day a week... readings are killing me already and looks like i'm going to have assignments coming out of my ears in few weeks. got to remind myself that its only 13 weeks plus 2 weeks of stuvac.

i didnt find law203 to be particularly difficult and the unit convenor makes really thorough lecture notes which helps. but when i did the unit students were assessed through hypothetical questions (as well as class participation) and i think that takes a little bit of getting used to. good...

4 days a week (damn that tute on friday thats preventing me from 3 days a week timetable!). depending on the week it's 5 days a week (random evening tutes). working 1 day a week. fingers crossed for not going insane by the end of sem 1.

im glad to know that im not the only one whose been waiting for almost an hour to access estudent. i hope all tutes aren't full yet. EDIT: i got to the login page!!! but got runtime error... bummer. EDIT: 1:54 now. i finally got in!

sean 1990, did you get this information from the unit convenor or other academics involved in this unit? if so, this sounds really good to me :D
