    Need Helppppppp

It's always a good idea to talk about more than one text --> you pick the one you think is the best to answer the question and then compare it to 1 or 2 other texts to demonstrate why the text you picked was the most appropriate one

English Choices for Year 11 &12

It's silly to pass up a subject without trying it on the basis of 'it might be hard work'. Definately try it - but make sure you're aware of the final date that you can drop down by if you don't like it. It's a good course - well, I think anyway :p - so good luck and enjoy!

    At Least?!?!?

hey, don't get too overexcited here. no need for over- or in-depth analysis of BOS' motives. If they say the minimum is one related then they mean it's fine (and expected) to do only one. don't sweat about it darling :)

    Tips for remembering essays?

lol my ultimate tip for memorising essays? dont do it! i've always believed that memorising essays is not the way to go, however i do realise that some people find it very comforting. if you feel you have to have a memorised essay than rote learning really is the only guarantee of a complete...

    plagiarising

If you quote something you are not plagiarising it. Quoting is an acknowledgement that you are borrowing someone else's words. To quote something you must enclose the relevant words in quotation marks and state somewhere before or after the quote where/who it comes from. When someone...

    Paper 2 doesn't count!

even if your trial paper doesn't count, surely it would be a good idea to try and do it as if it didnt count? Enjoy having no pressure for sure, but the whole idea of the trial is to let you have a practice-run for the real thing. If you don't try in them like you will for the real thing, then...

    Essay responses

linking thematically is a good idea - when we say 'what themes does Coleridge present' all it means is 'what ideas are discussed in the poem? What is Coleridge the message the poet is trying to give you?' the other way to link texts can be through techniques - ie, if your texts have common...

    Suggestions for my essay/handwriting

messy writing can be a problem, however, what one person sees as 'messy' might be considered alright by another. as long as it is only 'messy' - as opposed to illegible - you're alright. practice writing fast and you'll get neater. remember that your marker will attempt to read what you've...

    Spiceing up a speach?

darling, you'll never be marked down for using humour in a speech - as long as it's appropriate (ie, it relates to your topic somehow). you need to keep relating what you're saying back to your audience: nothing grabs a person's attention so much as the word 'you', so insert that word in as...

I posted this a while ago- A CREATIVE STORY, WHICH SHOULD GIVE IDEAS!!!

hmmm, I like it. staple journey stories - such as any sort of crash, 'woke up and it was a dream', teenage angst etc - should generally be avoided; if for no other reason than that your marker will most likely have just finished reading a stack of papers exactly the same as yours. this one...
