i relate to this on the most profound level.
Just a query, how in depth do your selective schools teach the content? I’ve heard Girra teaches sigma pi bonds and hybridisation, either Girra or baulko can’t remember

oh really? my school doesn't teach that stuff since it's all chem oly, so the most in-depth we went was stuff about h-bond donors/acceptors, which aren't part of the syllabus anyway.

Oh nice. What subject did you find the hardest so far?

not the person u asked but I attend one of those 2 listed schools and half the time we literally just did practicals
oh haha 😂, practicals are literally the most useless thing in chemistry. I remember none of it and just memorise the procedures before the test, so annoying to be honest. Glad there werent any Prac questions. I’m just really glad I don’t have to do chemistry again to be honest haha

bio lmao i did it on no sleep (was sick the night before) and it was a little disastrous because i couldn't think straight and the questions were all quite weird.

and the other half the time we were trying to write practicals up in such a way as to get the "A" grade which barely any of us got in the end
people in our class would profoundly relate to this

Aww. Honestly, I found the MX1 paper the “hardest” because m, same as you, got little to no sleep, had a case of insomnia so I was so sleep deprived. Since maths is my strongest subject though I managed to still pull through

Bummer than “A” grade practical couldn’t be put to work when there were NO PRACTICAL QUESTIONS. Wtf NESA, I memorised the whole methodology for esterification word for word as in the sample answers. Smh 🤦‍♂️

How’d you find MX2?

yeah, bio's usually my strongest subject too but i defs feel like i underperformed way below my usual capacity. plus, idk how well i would've talked about alzheimer's with full cognitive function anyway haha. oh well, it's all done! :D only have physics and then we're out of here!

like I guess the esterification knowledge could still be partially used for the last question explaining the reaction conditions like I did but it was tad too overkill even for the 7 marker and the response felt really out of balance with the idk 2 pages of esterification thing
