How much should I be studying each week day and on weekends ?

I'm trying to fit in 1 hour of exercise and 8 hours of sleep into each day. and I'm thinking of using the pomodoro study technique for all my tasks I need done. As for organisation I'm going to try get folders/binders for each subject and take one to school which will have all my due tasks/HW in it.

Should this suffice for year 11 ?

There's no correct answer to your question because it depends a lot on what ATAR you're aiming for and your ability as a student.

However, I'm speculating that 1-2 hours on weekdays and perhaps 3-5 on weekends is sufficient to get around band 4-5 for most subjects but this is influenced by other factors like the ability of the student + difficulty of the subjects. Some subjects are exceptions like maths which you can't afford to wing in year 11, and in contrast PDHPE which in my opinion the year 11 content hardly influenced my studies in year 12 if at all.

What exactly do you have in mind for studying (is it other than homework)?

Folders are good just make sure you know what sheets are for what subject for the folder you bring to school and to organise them back because I tend to forget about that and just leave them there.

I think it's definitely great you are trying to get some exercise for Year 11 and 12. That's something that looking back on, I wished I had implemented into my daily routine; it's definitely very relaxing from an intense study session and also has its mental benefits, as per research has shown. But as has been said, it's a very subjective question, and should be answered in this way: as much as you need to be thorough with all your subjects. What constitutes as studying for you: 'reading a textbook' or 'doing practice exams/questions' or 'doing homework' from school? What are your weaker subjects, which you definitely should be putting the most work in to every day? The main thing is to be consistent with it, so a time frame like 12 hours a day may not be feasible nor may it be sustainable for the next 2 years (assuming you are going into Year 11 next year by your description).

I'd say studying would constitute as homework, practice papers,anki and revision for me. I don't really know what my weak subjects are, to be honest I've never done badly on a test. I could probably use some extra math practice for 3U math though.

I want to get a band 6 in pretty much everything. I'm aiming for a 95+ ATAR so I can study law/commerce and get into my desired course.

yes man fkin exercise
i regret quitting during my trial and hsc period as it really helped with anxiety
so do lift weights it gives you confidence, energy and the determination to grind studies
its also good for discipline

Well, it looks like you've identified the subject which you need to spend extra time on. Just make sure that with 'studying', it's active recall and not just reading notes or reading a textbook, which aren't going to be useful to you at all. In my opinion, the best time to read notes is the night before an exam or the morning before an exam, just to get a few concepts drilled into your brain which you may struggle with otherwise.

Yeah it helps me clear up brain fog after intensive studying so i can kind of retain more information, so many benefits to it IMO. Even Eddie Woo said that going for a run/walk before an exam can help you heaps in Math Exams because it warms your brain up and you don't make silly sign errors or anything.

1 hour exercise + 8 hours sleep is solid. Try to get in 2 hours of study per weekday, and double that on the weekends. The weird thing about studying is that it gets more efficient the more you do it. So, don't fret too much about the number of hours you're doing, but rather if you're studying a bit everyday or not.

The binders sound solid.
