1. ### Perms & Coms

Unable to do the following question. Could someone please provide an explanation: Eight people are to form two queues of four. In how many ways can this be done if Sean and Liam must stand in the same queue? ANSWER: 17,280
2. ### What raw marks in extension 2 generally correspond to state ranks?

Yeh that circle geometry question was killer. If you read the markers comments, only one person in the state got full marks for all of the parts involved in the question. However I felt that question 8 was relatively easier compared to other years.
3. ### What raw marks in extension 2 generally correspond to state ranks?

That's what I was thinking as well, although I don't think they will include it purely just for "old time's sake". I think they'll do some sort of probability question, and perhaps throw in a bit of sequences and series amongst it all. They may even also do something that is going to be assessed...
4. ### What raw marks in extension 2 generally correspond to state ranks?

Hey guys, Would any of you happen to know what the marks were looking like for the 1995 HSC (i.e. highest, average, minimum mark for E4, etc.). I have nothing to compare my own mark with for that paper.
5. ### Conflicting Probability Question

This was a question in a biology exam at our school, where the teacher argues that the answer is 50%, whilst the students suggest it is 25%. I thought there was no better place to put the question here, and see what you all think the answer is. The question follows: "A mum has a 50% chance of...
6. ### CSSA 2019 Maths Ext.1 Question 11e

See but the thing was that even in the official CSSA solutions they included all four solutions, and didn't disregard those that didn't satisfy the domain of tan
7. ### CSSA 2019 Maths Ext.1 Question 11e

Hey guys, I know that there was a big fuss about question 11e of the CSSA 2019 trial paper, and that some schools only allowed an answer of two solutions, while others accepted both two solutions or four solutions for the second part. I was curious as to whether if we were given something like...
8. ### What raw marks in extension 2 generally correspond to state ranks?

Did you download the solutions off a website? If so, you could just attach the link to the website. But thanks anyway
9. ### Anyone done CSSA 2019 MX2 yet? How did you find it?

We receive all of our trials back next week, despite the security period ending today.
10. ### What raw marks in extension 2 generally correspond to state ranks?

Anyone have solutions for MX2 HSC 1981-1989? I'll take solutions to any of the papers

12. ### What raw marks in extension 2 generally correspond to state ranks?

What was your raw mark like for the 2010 HSC paper, because I have found that the hardest paper I've done so far.
13. ### Anyone done CSSA 2019 MX2 yet? How did you find it?

It was relatively easy in my opinion. I was unable to get question 10 (although I guessed A which I think was the correct answer) and the very last part of question 16, but nonetheless it was fine. If you were able to get your hands on the 2016-2018 papers, they were all strikingly similar in...
14. ### Struggling With Conics Question

Ok, thanks. I guess I was just lazy to draw a diagram. Would you recommend drawing a diagram if it isn't given for the question?
15. ### Struggling With Conics Question

Consider the general equation for an ellipse. Point P(acostheta, bsintheta) is a point on the ellipse, where costheta and sintheta do not equal to 0. The normal at P meets the major axis at G and the minor axis at H. R is the point (0, bsintheta) on the minor axis, and O is the centre of the...

Cheers mate.
