Do markers discriminate against people who choose a prescribed text as their related?

Re: Do markers discriminate against people who choose a prescribed text as their rela there's no reason not to they dont discriminate at all, if you answer the question properly I've done it before and can personally confirm it works. This is despite others saying that it's a bad idea...

What laptop should I get for uni?

That's no good at all! If the warranty period expires (i.e. 12months usually) you are still entitled for warranty under your ACL. In fact, I've heard of people getting repairs and warranty claimed free years after the warranty period ended. For more info search up ACL Consumer Rights.

What laptop should I get for uni?

Full disclosure haven't used MATLAB but have friends in engo. I see no reason why a 6th gen i3 processor would struggle to reasonably handle uni stuff in MATLAB provided its a decent higher-end i3 (some i3's are faster than i5's). In terms of RAM, this will vary alot on what you do with it...

What laptop should I get for uni?

Wouldn't reccommend macs unless you are reuqired to get one, simply because repairing them is *fucking expensive*. I sell them (including other laptops) and I always have to deal with pissed of broke students / customers complaining that they've gotta spend $900 to repair a mac because they...

Difference between memorising and understanding content.

The irony in asking this question is tragic (no offence OP) Very powerful course: https://www.coursera.org/learn/learning-how-to-learn

Couple questions on uni, part time job and free time

No problem dude. The one thing that I wish somebody told me when I first started uni is to make good use of your time. 2 hour commute? Download lecture slide PDFs and review them on your phone on the way back AND forward. It goes a *super* long way to helping you retain information. 30 minute...

Couple questions on uni, part time job and free time

I work 3 - 4 days per week. I go to uni full-time (4 hours of commute per uni day). On the side I am working on my startup and I volunteer at two other charitiess. I'll admit I don't have a social life, but I get enough sleep, have a high WAM (79 WAM this semester despite getting 2 credits). I...

    Got an atar of 41.35

Try applying for UNSW / USYD Comp Sci, I know a guy who got a 40 something ATAR and they let him in Anyway, there are always alternative entry schemes: UWS then transfer is a popular one :) Anyway don't stress too much, I know it seems like the end of the world but it isn't. I didn't do to...

How to learn Computer Programming on my own?

    > thenewboston lol god pls no, language doesn't even matter, but something like Python is gonna be a better introduction to programming, Python, or C if you feel you want a challenge Remember, understanding > memorising syntax

    MATH2901 Higher Theory of Statistics

I think it should be Ho: U = 95, Ha: U < 95 R output is mainly qnorm / pnorm / qt IIRC. Qnorm is % shaded eg qnorm(0.5) = 0 i.e. 50% shaded is at 0 on the normal distribution, etc. Pnorm is opposite so Pnorm(0.5) = the % shaded at z = 0.5 (or the pnorm/qnorm may have been other way around)

    What's my atar estimate guys?

I don't think you are doomed, could mean that you have a good cohort. If you did well externally it will show... Possible 70+ If you got 50% in all your exams, they'd align pretty well esp since aligning has diminishing returns at higher values, and the closer you are to average the better...

    Infs1603??

1603 is not a wam booster I bombed the final and didn't understand one question (worth 25 marks) because it was confusing as hell (not in terms of technically confusing, but the question was worded so ambiguously and you had to read like 2 paragraphs) so I couldn't do the first sub-question...

    getting a job!

Yeah this, its important to show up. If it's an online application just put your application reference ID on your resume. I will say however most retail places don't need people, the one I'm in gets dozens of resume's all the time, it's more based on luck imo
