Official: 2013 Modern History HSC Exam predictions thread

I'm nervous about wasting time on the Geneva Conference since it was asked in 2009… they might ask about the Tet Offensive again, which was only asked in 06 or the development of US policies D: This is taking ages though…

Official: 2013 Modern History HSC Exam predictions thread

I do USA :( I'm concentrating on social tensions (not industrialisation/urbanisation because it was asked last year), foreign policy and causes of the Great Depression. I'm so worried they'll ask yet another question about the Depression/strategies to solve it– my hopes are on consumerism...

That isn't the syllabus list of contemporary issues though– I already posted the list from the syllabus, and child soldiers is one of them.

    Multiple Choice

I know, but the question said review, not appeal, so I wasn't really sure @.@

    Multiple Choice

I did the Drug Court because it said 'review' and not 'appeal', and i figured an appeal would go to the Supreme Court anyway. Doesn't matter, I fucked up both peace rights and education.

    Crime Extended Response

I wrote about purposes of punishment– mainly rehab in the Drug Court, appeals and circle sentencing, then contrasted these with the impacts of removing discretion in mandatory sentencing (the people smuggler one) and preventative detention (I don't think i should have included this )

    General Thoughts: Legal Studies

For non-legal mechanisms in world order I discussed Negotiation, compliance, cooperation (as facilitated through sovereignty), jus cogens, R2P and I talked about Amnesty International getting the Arms Trade Treaty adopted by the GA. For legal i mentioned the Australian external affairs power...
