Discrete Maths can't enroll in lecture

Yeah, never delay enrolment. It's possible more spots will open up. It's all room dependent, so if they move to a larger lecture theatre, they will increase the enrolment capacity.

    Need help with choosing subjects

A prerequisite is simply a course that needs to be done before doing another course. They don't have to be cores. Electives can have electives as prerequisites, which in turn could have a core as a prerequisite, which that could then have an elective as a prerequisite! UNSW has improved their...

    Enrollment Comp Sci HELP

Now you're in university, those 'subjects' are called 'courses'. Each course has classes that you need to enrol into. When you enrol into the course, it will then prompt you to add classes. There will be a section for a lecture, tutorial, lab etc. You enrol into what you are being prompted to...

What's the order of preferences? If UTS sofware eng is first, then you need to move it lower or remove it (after accepting). You can only get 1 offer per round.

How difficult is it to get a distinction average in com/arts?

It's just the next phase in education. It doesn't really matter if it's easier or harder. You should still be aiming for 100 regardless.

    Internal or external transfer

I think going to Macquarie looks better since you're not jumping around degrees, however, you would need to do much better than 75 average since it's an external transfer. But the catch is that if you were able to do much better than 75 at Macquarie, you should have been able to achieve that at...

Discussion Thread for Atar Notes & other forums

Re: ATAR Notes vs Bored of Studies The function of the moderators on ATAR Notes is clearly different to the function of the moderators on BoS. You aren't comparing the same 'roles'. And these people do not expect or even want to be 'rewarded' with some nomination to become a moderator. They...

Phys + Maths 1st year lecturers

Wolfe has a more practical teaching style, but gets through the content way too slowly so he skips much of the content. If you're maths inclined, Angstmann will be good as she has a more mathematical approach in explaining concepts, i.e. does working out in class. Don't know about the others...

    Internal Transfer into UNSW Law/Comm

If you transfer over, and if any of the 8 courses that you have completed in your first year do not align with Commerce/Law, then you'll need to catch up (by overloading or doing a summer course - if available) or extend your degree. Ideally, if you want to transfer to Commerce/Law, you wouldn't...

Why are people choosing to pursue a career in medicine?

You seem to be alive, so it seems like they did their job.

    B. Psychology

I don't believe that statistic. In 2014, USYD only had 233 undergraduate students enrolled in the B.Psych and 46 in the Honours year program. Even if you doubled that figure twice, that's nowhere near 2000.

I haven't gotten an offer yet

No, most offers are released in the Main Round (18th). The UNSW Guaranteed Entry just means if you put that course, you will receive an offer in the Main Round.

    URGENT!

You need to be a medical doctor. A psychiatrist is an expert in mental health. They diagnose mental illnesses, analogous to a cardiologist who diagnoses circulatory illnesses. There is absolutely no other way.
