Is a 6 figure salary possible with a CS or SE degree?

I'm still around - my SOR didnt count as well despite the fact that I got a Band 6 for it (my mid-band 5 in economics counted over it). I dont have a property at the moment, but I'm aiming to buy before the end of next year. I'm in a position to buy at the moment, but I want to get a more...

How long did it take you to come out of the closet?

As rough as the old crowd was, they were always pretty accepting and to be honest, I'd imagine that the current TNT people would be as well. If not, then I think that is a pretty big step backwards for the community.

How long did it take you to come out of the closet?

I cant think of a time when this has happened, even if it did, the BoS community of the past probably would have shot them down (and that says quite a fair bit because the old BoS crowd was vicious).

How long did it take you to come out of the closet?

BoS has had a large and fairly influential gay/bi population for many years and it's never been an issue (our Admin is openly gay).

How long did it take you to come out of the closet?

To be honest, BoS has always been pretty accepting of this kind of thing.

How long did it take you to come out of the closet?

Quite a few regular posters over the years have been gay/bi.

    Management Consulting

It would be great if you could get that - having change/process improvement/restructuring experience can give you a big advantage in the future when you are going for leadership roles.

    Management Consulting

This pretty much - an MBA is really designed to compliment years of practical management/industry experience. It's more for people who are currently in some form of leadership role and want to take a step into more senior leadership positions (i.e. an operations manager looking to become an...

    Work environment or the money?

It depends on a lot of factors, but generally speaking, I put more of an emphasis on work environment than money. If you are working with bad managers/colleagues and in a business/team with a poor culture, it takes a lot out of you and has wider implications. Money is important to dont get me...

    Medicine is shit!!!

This pretty much - I hated Law and didnt think it was worth the effort, I'm sure my mate would disagree because he loves it.

Really important question about hsc exam marks and rank

For the first part, use an ATAR calculator because they are more accurate in that case. On those ranks, my guess would be 75-80.

    Management Consulting

I personally wouldnt do Masters straight out of uni, because those types of degrees usually make you more employable later in your career. Early on they just make you look overqualified. I am generalising though, going straight into Masters can be good for some careers.

    Management Consulting

The JD would be good, but an MBA is more something you do after you have been working for a few years. Keep in mind that you will need a HD average which is no mean feat. Also, external consulting involves long hours and is high pressure - it's a cut-throat environment.

    Management Consulting

In a nutshell, all it involves is analysing current business processes and making/implementing plans aimed at improving efficiency. Management consulting can be done by people working within the business, or by an external company (Mckinsey, BCG, Accenture or now even Deloitte). External firms...

Is a 6 figure salary possible with a CS or SE degree?

This is probably one of the biggest misconceptions regarding jobs - they are about money. Sure, you do have to like what you do, but at the end of the day, making money is what work is all about (and salary still has an impact on motivation despite what new age thinkers might believe). People...

SOR 1: what do you think of using your own religion instead of ones studied in class?

Re: SOR 1: what do you think of using your own religion instead of ones studied in cl If you feel you are confident then go for it - just make sure that you know the right things and know how to respond to the questions.

    Importance of school rankings

The strength of your cohort and your position in your cohort (i.e. your rank and the relative gaps between people) are the factors which are important for internal marks.
