Differentiation Question (Showing first derivative of something)

I'm stuck with this differentiation question: Given y= x(x+1)^3, Show that dy/dx = (4x+1)(x+1)^2 So far, this is what I've done ( I'm not too sure if I'm correct) You use the product rule and the chain rule, and I got u=x, u'=1 v=(x+1)^3, v'=3(1)(x+1)^2 (You use the chain rule...

how hot does it have to be for us to go home?

Really? I find this very hard to believe. Most public schools just can't afford what private schools can afford.

Why selective school kids need tutors?

Agree. You're getting free [decent] education and most parents spend that money saved on tutoring. A lot of parents see this as a good investment, hoping the money they spend on tutoring and education pays of when their son/daughter enters university.

Why selective school kids need tutors?

I don't agree with this. Like Treble says, not all selective school teachers are good; Thus one of the reasons students look for tutors. Some teachers may not even have to teach much, since most of the kids are getting tutored. But in saying that, there are still some excellent teachers at my...

    Talent 100

That's a rip off. Even Matrix aren't that expensive, 500 dollars per subject, a term and you get qualified teachers/ professors. It only gets more expensive if you're in year 12.

Nagative impacts due to choosing ESL english

But if you don't do adv. english well, it could lower your UAI. It depends on your english level; If they recommended it, I'd take in their advice. They would know your skill level. ESL scales better then standard english though.

Dividing fraction - how do they teach?

If you go to a selective school, it doesn't mean you have good teachers.

We had our last day yesterday, No SC results or certificate. Only a school one congratulating us on completion of junior secondary education. I was also led to believe the certificate and results get posted out at the same time, so everyone gets the results around the same time.

    SC Marking/Results Process

Re: How Does The Sc Marking Process Work? What boredofsc was saying that your way of dividing by 2 and adding 50 is not the way the SC mark is calculated. If they were using your way, if you got 93/2 + 50, it would be a fraction... If you had read the posts by cem, she clarifies the way...

    Weird Marking

Well.. if they were to make it out of 100, they would have to add 10 marks somewhere.. so another 10 m/p or 10 more marks of short answers.. or another extended response or something.. I think the way they've set out the exam is very fair.. Like if we had to write another extended...

    James Ruse Agricultural High

Yea, I agree that they are. They used to be Andrew Denton's scripwriters for his interviews; I think he was the one who supported them to be aired on TV.
