Difference between Future value and Present Value

Future value is the price of something after an amount of time Present value is the price it is presently at. Break the words down... Example John has a DVD player worth $400, if it appreciates by 4% p.a what will its price be in 5 years time? so.. FV=PV (1+R)^n FV= 400(1+.04)^5 FV=...

    Help, Standard/Advanced English Question

I'm almost certain that standard and advanced english do NOT get scaled differently, so don't stay in advanced thinking that if you do avg in it, it would be better than doing standard. There are students out there in standard that actually try and work hard and get bands 5 and 6 but...

For all 2010 kids doing their School Certificate

Seriously guys, unless you are planning to leave school at the end of year 10, then dont worry about it at all. I did a half hearted effort of study on the weekend prior to the s/c and walked out with band 5's and 4's. Not the greatest sure, but really, it doesn't matter if your going on to year...

For those of us taking more than 10 units into the HSC...

Question: For those of you who are taking on 10+ units wouldn't it be easier if you dropped your lowest ranked subject in order to spend more time on the other subjects to try and increase them? That's how what I am doing, only because I really don't like one of the subjects therefore I wouldn't...

How much have you grown since yr 11?

I believe that i have changed alot. Earlier this year I had some family issues forcing me to live with my older brother (21 years old) for 3/4 of the year. Even now it's still hard to live by; doing practically everything myself for myself plus family. After all that though I still gave it 110%...

    advice needed for subjects

it depends how well you are doing and how well you want to do. Eg. You are averaging 50% per test but you want to get 90+ in HSC, easier to drop to general. But if your still getting 50% but you want to aim for 60-70 in HSC then i believe that it's achievable, you just have to work heaps hard...

    Process of dropping your subject

From just reading everybody else's school policy you lot should be grateful. For us, if your have >12 units you can drop to the min of 12 units anytime with ease, but since we are doing HSC next term one would think we could drop to 10 units if we wanted to. But no, we must keep 12 units min...

    In a speech....

when your audience are a bunch of teenagers (the setting is, not literally, really there is only a teacher there) would it be appropriate to use slang/informal terms to describe things? i know my teacher wants us to but does possibly offensive terms like 'gay' going too far? Or would it fit in...

    The Night Before Essay Planner

Yep I use it. Very useful, talks about length of essays (length of intro, body, conclusion) depending on how many words the essay should be. It really helps you break down the essay question and then expand it so soon enough you have the infomation and you can just write it out. Easy!
