    work shift

Oh btw I just learnt something new about the meaning of "shift". At my friend's workplace, a shift is set to 3hrs. So... she can work 3 shifts in a day - in another words we'd just call it a 9hr shift.. if that makes sense.

What did you have for breakfast today?

How long will it take for me to get my P's?

Well it depends on the availability of your dad to take you out driving per day, how much initiative you show to drive each day, how much you want to learn, and how fast you learn. If you're one of those people who drive a grand total of 3hrs in 2yrs I don't even think a car is important to...

    waitering/waitressing

Hmm customer complaints.. Customers never really complain.. the most common complaints are just coffee having too much head =S Because when the bartender is rushing sometimes the order goes out before the head settles and by the time the customer looks at it, the latte is half a glass head...

    work shift

A shift is a period of time in a day that you're required to work. There are no set hours in a shift. I could have a 3hr shift.. or a 12hr shift.. Get it?

Anyone working on the upcoming public holidays?

lol no.. we're not open on either =] I really don't think I'd be able to rock up to work on those days anyway.. I'd probably be passed out somewhere..

    waitering/waitressing

**wall of text** Um.. level of skill depends on what type of place you plan to work at.. If you want to work at a classy restaurant, prepared to get whipped into shape.. I'd much rather prefer working at a cafe or something.. somewhere casual where the job isnt so demanding.. Basically...

    Resignation?

Honestly if you haven't been working there for over 6 months you can leave on the spot if you really want. But ideally just speak to the person giving you shifts. You can either tell the truth.. or just say some random shit like something came up and you can't work during the xmas period...

    Rules for Customers

Please do not just take a bite out of things when you're browing around.. I rocked up to work today.. and a customer told me there was a mess in the chocolate aisle.. so I went to confect and there lay a block of chocolate with like 2 squares missing from the corner.. As I was chucking that...

    Anybody know ALDI's pay rate?

Yeah I've been told $21/hr.. They're apparently picky on who they hire and a mate of mine which once worked there said that they work you for your money's worth.

I really hate rude people who are poor. The guy came through my register reeking of alcohol and he seemed nice enough when he was talking to the lady in front of him and her baby. When I served him he bought a loaf of bread and a soup mix which was $1.80. He dumps $1.70 in my hand and says...

    Tips for the Cashier

ROFL I'm so picky with the bags! I know which coloured ones are the nice ones and I always pick the ones with the nicer texture because they're easier to open.. Sometimes we get these rough ones which take forever to open then seem to have a bad static charge on them so the opening tends to...

I would of said Charmander then sold you the smokes. Where do you work? I know that at Coles you are actually not required to check bags anymore. Not sure if it's just Coles or all supermarkets.. Which is why the "Conditions of Entry" sign at the door regarding bag checks have been removed...

I really hate retards that do weird things. Like this woman yesterday who had a massive trolley full of stuff. She goes through a junior register with a little bench [like a woolies express].. and she mumbles something about $30 which the girl serving her didnt really hear.. The junior scanned...

    Rules for Customers

I hate it when dodgy kids try to buy cigarettes. There's this one guy who came to me 2 days ago and tried to get a deck of Marlboro.. I asked for ID since he looked really young.. then he says he doesn't have his ID on him, but he told me that Dave [my duty manager] saw his ID a few days back...

    Tips for the Cashier

That's because you lay your hand out flat, or you dont receive much change. Try using your thumb. If you press down between your thumb and 2nd finger, you should get an indent in the note where you can nestle the coins just above the palm.. if you do that you can swing your arm left and right...
