    Mac Bank drop 100 staff

For all the decent execs, i've heard that they are actually splashing out in an attempt to keep them in the company. "Re-allocation" of funds perhaps, but I know who i'd rather keep in this climate.

Car bailout deal fails in US Senate

Yeah, sure man, cheap stocks. ...with the prospect of them getting much, much cheaper in the near future. Definately the time to be buying them.

Car bailout deal fails in US Senate

Oh dear, GM looks like it's going down. The US Senate rejected the bail out because they didn't think the cash would stop the car makers from collapsing. Looks like they're on their own now. http://www.news.com.au/business/story/0,27753,24790284-462,00.html

Universities to merge in major overhaul

CSU apparently has one of the best Journalism programs in Aus. Will this merger cause the standard of it to slide? What's good from SCU? Oh wait, B.Forestry. :)

My exam is longer than yours.

They go up at 12:01am on release date. But the uni doesn't want everyone to know, just in case the system crashes at like 12:30am. Unlikely, but that's why they are always up earlier than the announced 9am. Meh, 71 for ACFI3190 Risk Management. Has to be the hardest course of both Accounting...

    Cannot get job anywhere

I would be interested to find out what people actually think when they hear the term 'recession', and what affect this has on their spending. EDIT: I don't agree with John Williamson. Factoring in the consideration that the Fed Govt has promised to inject more funds if the $10 billion stimulus...

    Slightly shifty Q about transferring

Why would he be 'discovered' midway through his degree, and not at the application stage? I don't think the OP has a chance, purely because most universities cap deferrals to 12 months maximum. Bit naive to think you'd be able to 'sneak' around something in the process though, speaking from...

    Cannot get job anywhere

Um, you don't apply on-line for Subway. A simple resume handed in to the manager of whichever store you want to work at should suffice.
