What do you want to be when you grow up? Plans for after the HSC?

yeah but in 90% of those cases, its not because they couldn't complete it, its because they had a better opportunity, a better idea that they wanted to run with. and for every one of those millionaires out there who made it by dropping out, there are about 1000 who dropped out and didn't make...

    Does God exist?

Its part of a plan, WE do not know the plan, WE do not know it, God chooses not to act. Its fine if you consider this a horrible approach and consider God as a horrible being, or even consider that no being of such power could do this, but I'm just trying to demonstrate what I've been taught. I...

    Does God exist?

Well... technically that's what the whole story is about, "bad things happen, its a part of life, and there's not much we can do about it" This is an explanation of why we suffer according to the Christian/Jew/Islamic God, it is not proof of existance, its provided courtesy of le bible- which...

    Does God exist?

To back this up, there is actually a section in the bible that addresses this- the book of Job Very simplistically put there is this guy called Job, he's a loyal Christian, but then due a bet made by god with satan God screws with his life, throughout all of this Job still stays loyal (after...

    University Prerequisites

Wasn't there some girl who got into Newcastle Med when she was 15 a few years ago? Also remember that with subjects like Math/Chem/Physics you can usually do accelerated courses at university while still being at school. As well as things like the science olympiads where you learn an entire...

    Official Apology Thread

Re: Rudd to say Sorry on February 12 I'm pretty happy Howard didn't turn up, see while I don't like him that much he did exactly what he said he'd do. He didn't support the apology, hence he didn't turn up He stood his ground and he's perfectly right to refuse to give his blessing on the...

    Official Apology Thread

Re: Rudd to say Sorry on February 12 forgive me for using a religious example But this is like us saying "jesus didn't die for our sins, he died for our ancestors sins. They crucified him, not us" The thing is what it boils down to is the fact that the people who condoned/accepted these...

    Are free periods beneficial?

I found my subjects fairly challenging and I always had a load of co-curriculars as well as things to do at home. So I found my free periods were a great time to catch up on all the small things I had left over to do- ie chasing up teachers for things, or finishing that last bit of homework, or...

    summarising

Unless it is a take home assignment generally you do not have to have any form of references. However it may vary on school policy, I know at my school we had to write page numbers for any quotes we used in our essays. However that's about it. Of course you can summarise, in fact its pretty...

    Mandatory Orientation Meeting?

Usually these orientation things aren't that important, just official stuff... however they put "mandatory" in front of yours. You may wish to just call them up and say that you can't make it, they may be able to depart the all important message over the phone.

    Honeymoon Destinations

I think the tonga islands would be pretty sweet :p Though anywhere where there is warmth, an isolated beach and a nice hotel room would also be good :p

How do deaf people Learn at Uni?

Well deaf people are pretty good at lip reading, they have been lip reading their entire lives after all. When my brother broke his colarbone and arm, he told the university and they had someone scribe his notes. He didn't know who they were but he got the notes until his arm healed. Maybe...

preparing to leave for aus, hows the weather in sydney???

Thing to remember about Sydney is that it can change randomly, so you can't just bring summer clothes, or just bring winter clothes, because if you do, it'll be the opposite of what you brought over :p

    Casual / Part-time Jobs

If you keep it under 10 hours and lay off it during intensive weeks then I think you'd be alright. I can't say how good it is to be just able to go out and be able to buy something when you want it. Yeah but Coles can be a bit of a bitch at times, also toss up working enviroment, some bosses...
