    Mature Aged Entry

When applying for Mature Aged Entry into a university, what do they at? Do all universities have the same requirements? Is there anywhere I could find more info on this, apart from contacting the individual universities? You need to be 20 or older dont you? I just feel that im not ready...

    What teachers deserve?

Yeah, interesting. So you'd have teachers earning more than the Prime Minister. Hmmm...... What about Principals, they are currently on about 2-3 times as much as teachers, so would that mean they get $500,000 - $600,000? :-p

What is your HECS debt so far?

$0.00 Paid upfront for first semester, and the rest will be defered. Apparently it is cheaper in the long run to defer payment of HECS, which I cant understand why this would be, as there is interest paid the HECS debt, is there not? Wouldnt this mean it would cost more than paying upfront...

    Teacher Pay Increases

Here Here Katie, I made this point in another thread a while ago, but I would say you have done a better job at it. Its exactly right, yes people may argue all they like about whether teachers deserve a pay rise or not, but their is no denying where they stand in society when compared to the...

    What teachers deserve?

This is for all of the people out there that strongly believe teachers should deserve a pay rise. This is simply a thread where people post the figures of what they would want if you were teachers. Make no comparison to any other occupation, teaching is teaching. Is it $100 000+ for 1st year...

    Jobs and Salaries

Yeah thats the case with engineering and building/construction jobs, its the old case of "its not what you know, its who you know". Experience doesnt necessarily have to mean, paid work. Has he approached local council about some work experience, becuase if he has, I find it hard to believe that...

    Jobs and Salaries

Yeah, good luck trying to find a civil engineering job starting off at that sort of money. Its not impossible, although its one of those "special stories" you hear about to get people interested. I certainly have heard the story of the one student who completed their degree with high distinction...

    Distinction Average

I will add my similar story to Tactic's. I got 72 UAI for my HSC and now im sitting somewhere between a Distinction/H. Distinction average. I liked my subjects for the HSC, just couldn't manage them properly and didnt commit myself enough. I think once you hit uni, you see studying in a whole...

    Jobs and Salaries

Sorry, it was not my intention to criticise here, I was simply trying to make the point which you have just stated, the goverment is heading downhill with the public system. I cant see any sense in it, I mean the government can pride themselves in not having a huge debt at the moment...

    Jobs and Salaries

Maybe I am viewing that comment in a different light, but that seems like a contradiction. If people have a passion for something, that should outweigh the long-hours, the sacrifices they make, and especially their salary. The current salary provides them with more than enough to live a...
