Have you got access to another computer to test the headset on? Otherwise maybe check you have the latest drivers installed for your sound card. If it still doesn't work probably best to take it back and get it exchanged for another one.

1 way might be to use paint. Take a screenshot of the area with the bullet points, paste into paint. Then use the 'fill bucket' to change the colour of the bullet points, drag a box around it and copy back into publisher. Crude, but its the only way I can think of
