    Complex number question

    $a)let$z=cos2\theta + isin2\theta\\$using the fact that$ z= \frac{1+z}{1+z^{-1}}\\\frac{1 + cos2\theta + isin2\theta }{1 + cos2\theta - isin2\theta }\\=\frac{1 + cos2\theta + isin2\theta }{1 + cos(-2\theta) + isin(-2\theta) }\\=cos2\theta + isin2\theta\\\therefore Re[\frac{1 + cos2\theta +...

    should i drop mathematics?

^^^ wouldn't be a bad move at all to drop maths, 11 units is plenty for the hsc, and judging by your subjects, you're more of a humanities person anyway

    Timetable advice

id prob just want to get out, so yeah. For example in my current planned timetable, ive got on wednesday: 12-13: ACST 151 L 13-14: MATH 132 L 14-16 ECON 110 L Would this type of thing be too draining (I can move the ECON 110 L pretty much anyday)?

    Preparation For Enrolment.

yeah i just chose those recommended for acst/app fin, im pretty sure thats what they will tell us to do in the pre-enrolment thing anyway. You can wait until ac adv. to choose if you want, but note that you have to do your timetable too, which could be quite stressful, having to look through...

    Preparation For Enrolment.

I'm in exactly the same boat, done my proposed program form, based on the recommended units. I think im gonna skip pre-enrolment, coz i have also watched the videos and understand the process pretty well. (I also have a 1.5 hour gap between enrolment preparation and academic advising, and really...

    Complex graphing

    ill try explain it z + 1: this is adding 1 the the real part of z, so z + 1 is 1 unit to the right of z z + 2i: This is adding 2 to the imaginary part of z, so z + 2i is 2 units above z. arg (z - 2 - 3i) = pi/3 arg [z - (2 + 3i)] = pi/3; Ok i think you put a dot 2 units to the right...

    Random question

i dont think its possible to solve an equation with 2 variables, unless you had another equation, so you could solve them simultaneously....could be wrong though. I think, as you said, guessing and checking i the only way, as they specify a and b are integers

    COmplex Numbers

    fuck you're right....my bad and i though d and e were: d) tan-1(y/x) e)tan-1(y/x) - pi

    COmplex Numbers

this is pretty simple, just sketch z on an argand diagram for each case, use trig if necessary a)z lies on the positive half the the x-axis(real), so arg z = 0 b) z is on the negative half of the x-axis, therefore arg z = pi you should be able to work out the rest
