    Dangers of Red Bull etc.

mm, assuming sarcasm, clearly that's not what's being suggested. The ban only targets pornography - the main people effected are those who can't use peer to peer programs, young children.

    Dangers of Red Bull etc.

In response to SmokeWeed's post(s)... Such as what? What's more important then stopping young kids having access to porno? The way I see it filters are good - seems to me they're deliberately loose, allowing those who really want to access porno to cirumvent them, but stopping those who don't...

Historical Development of different language types

Ok, so under 'outcomes' in the syllabus, H2.1 says "describes the historical developments of different language types"....for the HSC, how much historical knowledge is needed? From conception of a paradigm's language ? Has a question testing this ever been asked? :S Thanks :D

    Binary Arithmetic

The way the samuel davis book explains it is that integers can be represented one of two ways: using sign and modulus OR two's (and one's) complement. Using the two's complement method, the first digit is ALWAYS negative, ie if the integer was 9 bits, then the highest order bit would be -256...

    Binary Arithmetic

Omg, i'm mortified! My own ignorance on display :S. Reading up on the two's complement system, it seems the first bit is known as the "highest order bit", giving it the negative value. For 8 bits, this means the 8th bit represents -128. It seems that 8 bits can infact only represent values from...

A good way to study - Crime

hmm that's a tough one =X...umm, forgive me if i'm wrong =p 1. Extradition - pulling people from overseas back to Australian soil where they can be tried, via treaties, eg Julian Motti (sp?) 2. ..i can't think of anything else :S, maybe, as a legal measure, treaties/agreements, or perhaps the...

    Binary Arithmetic

EDIT: for clarity, THIS IS ALL WRONG, DO NOT READ IT xd. Two's complement can only represent 127 to -128, so -142 is outside the representable bounds. ok, The idea of taking the two's complement of a subtraction is to turn it from a subtraction into the addition of two numbers, which is easier...

    Option 1 or Option 2

would you say then it's worth spending a great deal of time on both? I'm not sure, to me evolution seems piss ez compared to what they can ask you in hardware (eg, gates AND converting to IEEE 754....yuck!) Also, in light of this, is it worth going through converting things to different paradigms?

Do You Support the Death Penalty?

I don't believe in the death penalty - ever. What sort of message is that sending to the community where the state is sanctioned to kill. I believe it's contradictory to say, by law, you cannot kill another person and yet the state still may. A case of do as I say, not as I do. But the state...
