    Higher Physics 1B

Yeah PV makes us take higher level physics both sessions. It takes work, and be prepared for marks to be low, except labs, labs are easy. That said, i think most people ended up passing both, with lab marks sort of carrying us through. It is so different to highschool physics. Its basically lots...

B Engineering (Renewable Energy, Solar Energy, Photovoltaics)

The only chemistry we do is a 3 unit subject about chemical processes for RE systems, so its really specific. Its definately an engineering degree, not at all like an advanced science degree. In the renewable degree you learn a lot of stuff, wind, solar architecture, biomass, stuff on...

    Electrical Engineering

Photovoltaics isn't a subprogram of electrical engineering....The just have similar first year subjects which is common between a lot of engineering courses. BUT in our first dig circuits lecture the lecture showed us how to design a leap year flag and then said "okay now you know enough to...

    Mining Engineering.

Butterfly effect.... In all seriousness though Solar cells do take energy to build, but so does an oil refinery and a nuclear power plant. Solar cells are silicon based and silicon is just slightly abundant on earth... AND the 50% of fossil fuels we have left on earth includes the stuff...

Do you know that at the moment the companies sell solar cells with a 25year guarentee? And they have only been making them for that long, which means the ones they made 25 years ago are still in perfect working condition. In another 5 years they will be sold with 30 years warantees and the same...

    Mining Engineering.

I second that notion...You think it is like a flat gradient of oil over the past 100 years? Our use of oil must be so close to being exponential. Plus we will reach peak oil in the next 5 years and hmm interesting... Solar would be so much more efficeint if people admitted we need an...

    Mining Engineering.

Renewable has to be the way of the future...oil is limited and if we don't start admiting that then in about 50 years most people wont even be able to afford to run a car on pertol....mind you solar cars are a long way off being commercial however they are improving drastically... Australia...

    Mining Engineering.

I would say if you were considering mining, do civil instead because you can get the same mining jobs with a civil degree, plus civil is open to more job options. However, renewable energy is the way fo the future, so i would suggest looking at either photovoltaic engineering or renewable...

    contiki

I think the cheapest i had was 14 euros. The problem with contiki was the places we stayed were pretty much in the middle of nowhere, hence the lack of public transport. Where we stayed in italy it was a 25 minute walk to a train station, and then a half hour bus or something into rome. AND...
