hey guys,

i just wanted to know how you could pick your self up agin in school after failing like four of your subjects in trials,!!! i did quite poorly or shall i say beyond poorly! okay and i have another set of exams next term and the hsc exams left. Is it even possible to get an ATAR in the 50's with such bad marks???! i know i have asked similar qustions before but i am so scared to get a bad ATAR and not go uni...

hmmmm....wow, how does one fail 4 subjects?

nevertheless, its not too late still, much harder and your ATAR will be capped at a certain level. for 1, dont expect anything over 87. step 2 reassess your situation. step 3....STUDY. no matter what everyone says the hsc isnt 50/50. there is a hidden weight to the actual hsc exams.

yeah long story about the 'failing four subjects', not like i wanted to fail them but things happen, and my school rank is around 350-500.

and dont worry i'm not going to expect an ATAR any where above 60 let alone 86

some cohorts 50% is rank 10/80 but they do well in externals, thus getting moderated to 80-90

Are they fantastic ranks? No.

Is it a train wreck? Absolutely not.

You're doing average in ancient, that's alright. You're doing well in business imo, depending on how your cohort is going. English is not too good. Retail is alright. Modern is a problem.

Try hard for the externals and you'll be okay for 60's.

Think of it like this, if b arts was your initial goal, whether you got 80 or 60 is irrelevant; because you were going to do b arts either way.

So just work for the remainder, get that ATAR and go on to do your course.
