just wanna say that that synchotron thingy question was a bitch... i had no bloody idea so i made up crap like - the magnetic field has to increase with the increase in velocity

MuahUAau - 4 marks lost guaranteed.

Actually I thought it was a great question. You had to equate centripetal force with magnetic force and then discuss how since everything else is a constant you have to increase B to keep r constant

but ut asked for magnetic field strength so u say that instead of electrical energy, did any1 also mention mass dilation?

Umm that's one of the main points of the question.

As mass increases, force must increase. Velocity is part of it though...

yeah i talked about mass dilation since near c mass increases which means energy increases thus b must also increase, thus it used a lot of quantitative formulas to express the corresponding things....

Yep i talked about mass dilation. Instead of being F=mv^2/r, it would be F=mv^2/sqrt(1-v^2/c^2)r.

Wow someone agrees with me!!!

Yes, it depends on the way the electron is accelerated around the synchrotron. I used F=ma in my other explanation, and I'm glad someone finally agrees with that as they boost LIKE LINEAR ACCELERATORS.
