Okay, so far i plan on doing the following units in b of commerce:
- ACST101
- BBA102
- ECON111
- MKTG101

This totals up to 12 hours per week, not including breaks. Is it better to pick up 1 more core unit or just stick with the 4 i plan on doing?

Also, I plan on majoring in accounting and economics maybe but do you guys think it's better if i do ACCG100 in 1st semester because i'm majoring in accounting and replace ACCG100 with MKTG101?

If you want to major in ACCG, yes do ACCG 100 in 1st semester so you will be able to do ACCG101 in 2nd semester.

Doing more than the 4 units (or strictly speaking, >14 credit points) in 1 semester requires special approval. It is technically 'overloading'. It is possible, but you might want to do the usual 4 units to start off your time at uni, until you get settled, etc. It is up to you.

If i wanted to do ACCG, my timetable would require me to go uni 4 times a week OR finish on a friday at 7pm. This sounds crazy to me especially on a friday night haha sooo does it really matter if i don't start ACCG100 on first semester ?

MKTG101 will only require me to attend uni 3 times a week.

I heard that you must do 4 units each semester (standard) . Is this true? Well for some reason when i look at the timetable for 2010, ACCG101 and ECON110 lectures clash. What happens? Does that mean i can't do one of this unit because they clash? But i wouldn't be able to choose any other unit to replace because they are the prerequisites in order to study other units.

I'm so confused atm, can you please explain extensively?

Thanks.

1) enroll in the units even if there is a clash
2) pick a random lecture that doesn't clash on e-student (even if it is a night one or whatever)
3) go to any lecture that suits you (after about 3rd week when attendance dies)
4) go to your registered lecturer when you have your mid-sem exam

Is it better to do BCOM(Accounting) or BCOM-Professional Accounting?

I mean, if i already know i want to focus on accounting.. what is the point in doing BCOM and do 2 majors? It's probably more flexible than the Professional Accounting degree but i'm just confused at the moment.
