To my experience, those little mini bookstores down the street are usually the more cheaper ones comparing to the might of kinokuniya.

I remember I once bought 5 classics liek Great Gatsby for 5 bucks each when in another store they were $10.

bookshops are so cool and a true escape

but why doesn't australian hve those book shops that are also like cafes and you go and snuggle up into a sofa with a hot chocolate and read the books - like those ones in you've got mail
Sapphos on Glebe point road is a bookshop/cafe

best ham, cheese and tomato melts ever i swear

I just list some Mel useful book shops as shown below, including their add(location by google map), website, phone# etc.
If you're a person who's into comics, manga or a scifi fan then you'll probably love Minotaur, it's near the Officeworks on Elizabeth street, purple sign, underground.

For textbooks (including second hand) you can also go to Academic Solutionz near Sunshine station.



I haven't personally been to Kings Comic, but from the look of the products they sell on their website, they're similar to Minotaur? Located in Sydney, Pitt st.
