Oh damn I though it was gonna be a round robin. Clearly didnt read the rules properly. gg then.

I’ve been thinking there needs to be something other than an immediate knockout round given that white usually has the advantage over black in choosing the opening.

As some of you may know, the 1st edition was initially intended to feature a round robin format. However, following a number of obstacles, we reached the conclusion that a knockout format for future editions would be more efficient and effective, which we were able to determine by changing the 1st edition’s format from a round robin to a knockout.

While the competition is simplistic in nature (which gives a person with an interest in chess a chance to participate and have fun, irrespective of their skill), I am more than happy to take suggestions from players and the community that would enable this competition to give players a more enjoyable experience. :D

The final match will undoubtedly push the finalists to their limits, as they have both proved that they deserve to reach such an advanced stage in the competition. There is no doubt as to how close their game will be. However, only one player will be victorious!
