if you're planning on doing 4u, you should definitely try them, but don't get too discouraged or worried if you can't do some of them (especially for some of the more challenging 3u topics).

i think if i recall correctly the authors purposely made the enrichment questions beyond the scope of the 3u syllabus (and at times beyond 4u apparently) so that people who were able to do the development questions without difficulty could extend themselves (hence enrich their maths ability). i also remember that some of the enrichment goes through some stuff that touches or connects to 4u maths, so if you want to do it make sure to look through those questions when you come across them. ultimately it's not too much concern you need to make sure that the knowledge that *is* within the 3u syllabus is adequate first before even looking at the enrichment questions

Enrichment questions shouldn't be considered as "extension exercises", but rather motivation for further mathematics. When learning about integrating trig functions, you might have enrichment focusing on integrating the hyperbolic counterparts which isn't necessarily hard but rather supposed to "interest" you more in maths.

Some questions by nature will be extremely hard and they're supposed to be for people who want to go outside the syllabus requirements and study further. You might even see MX2 questions pop up in MX1 enrichments just to demonstrate.

Considering your context as someone starting out year 11 3u, don't worry about them and just focus on getting your bearings with 3u content. By al means go attempt them if you're finding 3u easy so far or you just want that extra challenge but do not consider them the benchmark for a top 3U student or someone wanting to pursue 4u.
