I really want to get an ATAR over 97 but I'm not sure I will. Trials are coming up and I'm not ready fort it what so ever. So my question is how much do the school assessments influence the final ATAR. If I aced the externals can I have my dream?

Btw I got to a school in the top 40 and in the school my rank at half-yearlies was around 50.

So can I?

You were rank around 50 for all subjects or just a few or just one? What were your rankings out of? Your marks maybe? Your question is too vague.

My rank 50, was the overall rank in the whole grade.
My ranks for individual subjects include:
English adv = 72/156
Physics = 10/59
Biology = 20/44
Chemistry = 66/85
Maths ext 1 = 41/83
Maths ext 2 = 17/33

It's possible, but to be honest I don't think you'll be able to get 97 with those ranks. Even if you do well in trials you still have to catch up heaps to stand a chance.

Just do your best for now and see what happens.
