It is (effectively) a probability distribution so the area under curve is the same. Hence, as the mode increases and the distribution widens, the height of the mode must decrease. Further, since average kinetic energy increases with temperature, the distributions at higher temperatures will have modes that occur at higher energy.

So, as T increases, average KE increases and range of KE increases hence overall population of most common KE level is lower than it was for the most populated KE level at a lower T.
