Not very likely. It's far too restrictive, the general trend of the "Creative" questions has been to give a degree of freedom so that candidates can really explore the genre. With that said, I wouldn't be surprised if they gave a visual stimulus which could inspire hard-boiled writing.

generally, we should prepare with one story just exploring the conventions, one about a character of the perscribed text or even a spin off sort of peice from one of the perscribed texts. i dont think they'll specify it too much cos it'll take away the "creativity" of it.....i hope anyway

It's possible, but the subgenre hasn't been specified in any past papers. But don't forget that the point of the whole genre topic, esp crime fiction, is to understand the different conventions.
