hey,
does ne one have any information on the criminal procedure act 1986. thanx guys xoxo

Its in relation to the proceedures of criminal law through our court system. Law can be classified as Procedural and Substantive.

Substantive law is the 'black letter law' tells us if we have liabilities, if we have committed an offence, etc... E.g. Torts Law, Contract Law

Procedural Law is the law of how to go about it. E.g. Law of Evidence

With this in mind:

The Crimes Act is the substantive Law

The Criminal Procedure Act is the procedural law. You should look through it, it has some interesting areas. Do note that evidence law is covered under the uniform Evidence Act of the Commonwealth.

Well if you do not get into law, you can do another degree e.g. Bachelor of Business. Then if you get above credit average, then you can apply for guaranteed internal transfer. THe advantage is you can do a B Business / B Laws and you wont have to stay at uni any longer because the law school will credit you on your first year.

Is that ur moot room?

That's the campbelltown moot court, there is also one at parramatta campus. They are nice inside. We have a specialised unit taught by barristers in the moot court, preparing a case and its heard before a judge for assessment.
