This is going to sound stupid.
Are you supposed to have a question for your critical response?
Thanks

Not stupid at all! It may be a good idea to have a question to 'answer' when you're getting started so you can easily get your head around exactly what you need to address. But as far as the requirements for the Major Work itself go, you don't need a question per se, you just need a clear topic and argument of some sort.

You need a thesis, or something to investigate.

Its not like a question that is a yes or no answer. For example, you may look at "Shakespeare's portrayal of women" and find that he is a misogynist largely because of his historical context.

You can also do really broad things like: "a capitalist reading of Catch-22" and just note things the authors says to critique or support capitalism...

Yeah, it's mainly a thesis where you should centre your work around. You don't need a question but it may help.
