Does transfering to another course after one year guarantee you a spot in that course (1 Viewer)

say you do really well in the course you're in now and you want to tranfer to another course, do all courses guarantee you a spot, even though they maybe competitive courses to get into?

No..

each course has a different requirement.
E.g. Law at Usyd will look at both your GPA and ATAR 50/50
Medicine will require UMAT.

So it depends on the course.. but most will require a credit average + GPA.

There's no defined cut-off for transferring into a particular degree program just like the ATAR as it changes between years depending on things like demand and extra capacity. As Dylanamali said, things like the ATAR may count as well so good grades isn't necessarily a guarantee.

I would argue though that a credit average is pushing it. I think aiming for a distinction average would give you a reasonable chance of getting into the degree program of your choice (provided it is reasonable).

Same university? If so, you'll need to take into account the internal transfer policy (if there is one) of the university you have in mind.
