Usyd just posted this on their Facebook page

Recently we have received reports of organisations and individuals contacting students on social media channels with offers of employment and/or work experience.
Students who have responded have been asked to meet at a restaurant for an interview and are then asked to provide funds or cover the cost of the meal. Legitimate employers will not require payment for further training or request that you pay for any interview costs. It is also unlikely that an employer will conduct an initial interview off-site. We encourage all students to be diligent and research prospective employers. If you are unsure about an employer and wish to validate them, please contact the Careers Centre.

There was a rather dodgy post here a few days ago, and looks like the mods removed it.

Just be careful not to throw away the baby with the dirty water.
Market research agencies all the time conduct ad hoc focus groups, surveys and interviews. In the tough market one of the ways to cut costs is to approach the students directly through the social media. It is a fast, inexpensive and efficient way and both the agencies and the students benefit.
I have been able to conduct such short arrangements through your site during the past years. As that is no longer possible I will use different channels, just be aware that you have stripped your members of a possibility to earn a solid hourly wage for an easy and fun task.
