93 externally 87 internally = 90, nowhere near what I could have gotten but given my lower internal mark I am glad my externals pulled me up to band 6.

I memorised all my essays 2 nights before and my creative the night before and got 97. Just goes to show how eaasy the HSC system is to manipulate.

Our teachers taught us to memorise. You never went into an exam without an essay planned.

Omg lol, I constructed all my essays on the spot and only got 98, darn I should have memorised it instead, it would have allowed me to compete in the aoe tournaments instead of writing out essays the day before my english exams...

86 advanced in exam; overall 84
my biggest problem was probably that infamous 3 poems instead of 2 thingo. alos, when i did the advanced paper, i had done 2/3 and still had about 62 minutes left! sure fucked that one, ended up making up another related text for telling the truth
only wrote about 25 minutes worth of yeats - had to make up some other shit about a 3rd poem, and put in a false quote...fuck

anyway yeah, memorising is good

80... Just got me the band 5 I wanted.

I'd not recommend it to current and future HSC students. The effort taken to memorise the essays (I wrote mine out thousands of times) is probably just as great as reading ur texts a few more times and learning quotes and such to make up ur own essay on the day.
bit like that, i used like about 500 pages to pre-prepare my essays for eng

but i reckon it does pay off

well 86 as an exam mark is nothing to trun one's nose up at. considering my creative response included a paedophile as a protagonist, and i did a yeats essay in 25 mins, and didn't have the 3 texts prepared and spent 62 mins on my frontline essay, all in all, i did well and coulv'e done considerably better.
