i got about 40% in 4unit and in 3unit doubled that to about 80%. last year every second 4unit psn got 92(hsc aligned mark) or more in ext1, that should put this poll into perspective......

So you mean half get over 92? That's encouraging ...

Oh wait, last year's scaling was stuffed ...

*sigh*

NO NO NO
the only difference i think was the scaling AFTER the aligned hsc marks. if u use laserseek and put the same mark in for ext1 3unit students and 4 units students, i then the scaling is differnet by about 6 marks!!!!, so its still encouraging!!!!!:D

You'll be fine Michael... wait, Rita' the one I'm supposed to say that to all the time... :)

Note the constantly rising stat of the 95-100% mark... :D It doesn't stop! (The implication is, Real? or Fake?)

There's only six in the real 3u exam estimates... :D though... where there's 7 here.
But I do agree estimates can be more optimistic than usual.

For 3 unit my est. mark is 82/84 but for 4 unit i'm looking at 97 i think which I'm very disappointed with. Though I think as an aligned mark that will be around 98, since last year 75 was 95 I've heard.

Please explain the reasoning...how does 97 raw turn into 98 if 75 raw turned into 95 scaled last year?

And how is it humanly possible that you're disappointed with that mark?

Well I was gearing up for a very good mark, practise papers was getting around 110 and yeah I just had higher expectations but i just made a lot of stupid mistakes. 3 unit went a lot better, though i didn't get the double integration question out :( Which is really my fault because apparently they were in one of our assignments too bad I never did one :( I got 84 in the schools trial but i realise it's meaningless because the person who came 2nd got 77 got mapped to 100% anyway and since u cannot top 3 u maths as a 4 u student and the fact that i have no chance in hell of topping 4 u maths in the state now anyway means i don't really care that much bout my 3 u mark. I'm really disappointed with 4U because my teacher was giving me the talk about how it's 15 years since our last T.G. Room medalist and I will be the next, but that disipated rather rapidly. Last year apparently a 75/120 was aligned to 95, i just think 97 will be 98 maybe 99 but definitely not 100, because I am under the impression that to get 100 you need around 110.

Theory goes that if you do ext.2 maths u have an advantage over those who do only ext.1 maths. Fair enough to an extent, but that's like arguing if you study more you have an advantage and therefore should be ranked separately.

Um, so is this a fact ...

That seems kind of silly ...

Does the same rule apply to english?
