what degree are you in? for first year you will have designated compulsory core units... so stick with those...

as for account and getting a CPA accrediation.. this website might help:

I was just wondering, You get professional recognition (provided you complete the required units for accounting) by CPA or Insititute of Chartered Accountants. Can you be a member of both? Or only one of these organisations. And if you can only be a member of one, out of the two, which one is generally regarded as being more valuable or better

The company you work for usually recommends (or forces you) to become one or the other, very few become a member of both.
