I'm quite confused about USYD's descriptions of major requirements. Can someone please explain by what they mean in the below image?

Do they mean you need 12 cp in maths + 12 cp in either chem or phys?

Don't think so, means that if you didn't do the junior geog units, but have done junior units in maths, chem &/or physics, you can still proceed onto intermediate/senior geog units and still complete a major in it. From my knowledge, geography is pretty flexible, you can substitute junior geo units for others (e.g with human geography, junior political economy units can be a substitute pre-req, i'm pretty sure anyway).
