oh gosh PUKE PUKE

Expected hours to work 30-45 hours.

30 * 6.40 = $194

omg i can work on sunday at kmart for 5 hours and get $135

ALSO your expected to pay for your own housing! Oh gosh, how do they expect u to pay for housing with $194 wage.

I had a looksie through the website.. and it seems like all a big ploy to get cheap labour under the disguise of a "college internship"

But that's American money isn't it? So it's really about $10 per hour. Still crap pay. And their costs are about the same as ours aren't they, just in American $? Meaning that in America they are still making the equivalent of about $6.40 per hour.
So yes it's slave labour in disguise

I searched Sears pay and got this, http://www.retailworker.com/node/24967
everyone is compaining about their crap pay of $6.50

On the bright side, you can dress up as donald duck and legitimately 'hug' (read: feel) as many chicks as you want all day :p (but then again, you will have to hug those morbidity obese american women just to counter any suspicion). :p

Seriously though, Anne, you have nothing to worry about in Mexico. You have to put it into perspective. The places that you would be going to in Mexico are probably the better parts (a university isnt going to be in the middle of nowhere, in some lawless desert) Although i am just assuming this, its likely that its in the better parts of Mexico.

If i were to think of all the terrible stories ive heard, most of them are actually from North America, not Mexico, and nobody seems to be making a big thing about going to America because some of its places there are violent as hell. So this fuss about not going to Mexico because some parts are apparently bad isnt really making much sense.

Now, if it were Iraq you were going to....
yay thank you jamie! :D

How is that possible? :( Do they do accounting or something?

I'd still go to Mexico over the US - like I said in the other thread, the cultural similarity between western countries really means that going to the US is the same as going to another part of Australia.

Oh dear.

e-Hugs to him.

Does he realise what 5 or less marks in all those PCs would have done for his GPA? Lazy or just in the wrong course?

I've been a Wandering Character (read: Lynn finding an excuse to dress up as a fairy princess) for the Teddy Bear's Picnic before. It's cool!

However, my friend was in the REAL full-body suit. They can only stay in there for max 20mins because it's too hot otherwise (even if there is a fan built into the suit). Basically what happens is that the suit person manages to walk about 20m in the space of ten minutes, because mothers keep on blocking the path by parking their strollers RIGHT in front of the character, so you have to stop and greet their kids. For the next ten minutes, the same thing happens... except you're trying to get back to the changing room so you can take off the suit!!! lol

On a side note, I was always scared of the full-suit wandering characters as a kid because they looked so big and scary. When my friend put on this big dog suit at the TBP, I got freaked out and asked him to at least talk to me (wandering characters in full suits are supposed to be totally silent), or take the head of the costume off so I wouldn't be so scared. What does he do? Stays silent, puts his arms out like a zombie, and chases me as I run around the changing room in fear :p

Oooh and another fun story - there was this dud suit another guy wore (off topic: omg he was soooo hot when out of the suit!!!) where the ventilation wasn't so good and the costume had glass-covered eyes, so within 2 mins of wearing the suit the 'eyes' fogged up and the poor dude in there was totally blind :p hahaha! (good thing they have 'wandering character minders :p)

haha. what would be more freaky as a child. seeing a big fluffy character, or seeing it walk with its head off, and seeing this little human head chatting, where the characters brain should be? :p

The former. Even if a child can see a human head (paticularly if they can hear it talking, this is why I asked my friend to take the head off so the notion that it was just a human in a costume could be re-inforced), they can associate it with human-ness and thus won't be scared of it as much. Size is intimidating to children unless they're physically above the scary object (such as in their parent's arms).

Of course, this is the Lynn theory. However I'm 99% sure that your textbooks will support this theory :p
