Hi!
I'm confused with empirical formula questions. When the question says hydrogen, do i assume that it is Hydrogen gas so H2 since it exists as a diatomic element or do i just use 1.008?
Thanks

Only use H in those questions

Just because it has a formula of H2 as an element doesn't mean when you put it into a compound that it will also have 2 hydrogens. An example is methane this has a formula CH4 and another one is hydrochloric acid which has a formula HCl.
