I need like a metaphor or something for the rain being really heavy ?? Any Ideas ??

Im hopeless at being creative.

The sentence is:
The consistent rain had transformed into tumultuous storm with howling winds ..........finish please

well you could use like rocks falling down a landslide or something.

That cliche is the reason i cant think of anything i just keep thinking of that.

Na im just saying that the rain got heaps worse and turned into a massive storm. Its foreboding one of the characters dieing.
