I'm one of those people who turns 18 just after schoolies. I heard in Vanuatu they don't check for age or that you can drink when you're 17 and plus Vanuatu sounds like a nice place for schoolies but I want to know how many schoolies actually go there. I would still like to experience the crowded party atmosphere like at Gold Coast schoolies. It doesn't have to be as big but we'd like to meet other people there. I'd like to see a fair bit of night life.

Thanks

I don't roll tha way
I don't like getting caught.
I hear cops have got great technology to tell a real from a fake
Cops check often
I don't want to spend over $1,000 in fines

Lol you can get quick cheapies for $150-$200 that aren't detectable unless they take it back to the station to check. If they check it on the spot with something portable, they won't come up as fake xD

All your choice though.

Drinking age is NOT NOT NOT 16. Don't kid yourself.

The drinking age in Vanuatu is 18 years old. Unlike Australia, however, they never EVER check ID.
I just got back from schoolies there. On the plane there and back they didn't check ID and gave me free booze every ten minutes or so (I was pretty drunk by the time we arrived).

OP: No way is it anything like Gold Coast. It's pretty... laidback and not crowded. We reckoned there was around 100 schoolies people tops, probably less.. but there are a few young people (age 20-25) around as well (Aussies). Some nights were pretty dead... there's nothing anywhere til around 1 am, and myeh, waiting til 1 am is a bit of a drag, there's only so long you can spend in their 'casino' (i.e. 2 little rooms with smokers everywhere and two dozen pokies).

N.B. guys, you buy a cocktail there at 'cheapo' places and it costs around $15 each cocktail.. and they drown it in alcohol too, almost to the point where it's like drinking flavoured kerosene. Was an expensive and unenjoyable way to get pissed, so you're better off bringing over spirits in your checked luggage (NOT HAND LUGGAGE!)

Most schoolies people we met were staying at Coconut Palms resort..
We stayed at Poppy's on The Lagoon.
Moorings is a good option, it has its own night club called 'rumours' and is centrally located (less than 5 minutes walk from main Port Vila, which means less than 5 minutes from clubs liek Voodoo Bar which is AWESOME (they pour petrol on the bar and light it.. zomg)

schoolies in Vanuatu is gonna go off!!... drinking age does not apply, which is why im going over coz im only 17!... and coz of the exchange rate, drinks are even cheaper! which is the main point of schoolies! haha... I go over to Vanuatu 3 times a year, and always go to the clubs there, but there is a method to follow if you go out clubbing... you wake up, have breakfast, do what ever for the rest of the day then about 6 go to bed, wake up about 10 and get ready, then go out about 11.. coz thats when the real parting starts!!! haha
Im staying at le meridian, last year there were heaps of yr 12's there so it was all good!! haha... plus theres heaps to do during the day!
anyway, maybe we can go out if you end up going there for schoolies!?!... anyway, hope ive helped!

Me and my gurLs wasted so much time thinking where to spend our perfect schoolies week because we really wanted it to be awesome! we wanted to make sure it was the best WEeK eveR.. from parties, cool beaches and overflowing drinks! time to get sloshed! haha.

Then we hit up this guy from a group called "Sure Thing Schoolies Travel" and guess what? we got to go to their awesome schoolies event! Vanuatu Schoolies!! it's on every year. We never thought it would be so amazing! we splashed on the beaches with the hottest dudes in town! lol

Seriously, we enjoyed our stay.Great experience!! I didn't even want to leave! haha. Vanuatu Schoolies? It's heaven!! So, Hey! it's my pleasure to chat with any future schoolies who are planning on going..

Definitely! the place, people and drinks? Sickest!! :)
