how the fk is it possible for someone who's gotten an 82 in modern to be getting a band 6...I refuse to believe this is fr LMFAO 82 is not bad at all for such a high stress situation but that just makes me not wanna study lol

Marks vary each year based on the exam difficulty and student cohort, however over the years the general trend has been that the raw mark number for a band 6 has been increasing across many subjects. Low to mid 80s is usually a band 6 in some subjects so it is not out of the question.
