Hello

I was trying to find a copy of Gwen Hardwoods " In The Park" to use for my English essay on change.
The thing is i've found a website with what i think is the poem.

Could someone please just verify for me if the copy is all correct?

In the Park by Gwen Harwood

She sits in the park. Her clothes are out of date.
Two children whine and bicker, tug her skirt.
A third draws aimless patterns in the dirt.
In the Park

Someone she loved once passes by - too late

to feign indifference to that casual nod.
"How nice, " et cetera. "Time holds great surprises."
From his neat head unquestionably rises
a small balloon ... "but for the grace of God..."

They stand a while in flickering light, rehearsing
the children's names and birthdays. "It's so sweet
to hear their chatter, watch them grow and thrive,"
she says to his departing smile. Then, nursing
the youngest child, sits staring at her feet.
To the wind she says, "They have eaten me alive."

A warning: Gwen Harwood is on a different part of the English syllabus, so any marker will look at what you write about this poem and think you've been lazy by choosing her.

I have no idea whether it's the full poem or not, but I just felt I should warn you. There are some old threads about supp. mat on change around, try and take a look for them.

its fine to use this one, because its not prescribed :)
It doesnt matter whether or not you use the full poem. I used one chapter of a book, and i know some people used one section of a play. Just use what you need to because you wont have enough time to write about the whole thing anyway :)
