Hey Guys...
Here is a Legal Report I have done.
I got 20/20 for it. Its a report on the R. V. Gonzales and the R. V. Sorrell cases.
This isn't here 4 people to copy but to give people an idea of what an assessment similar to this is meant 2 be like
Enjoy!
Joe

RESEARCH TASK (1,000 to 1,500 words)

1. Choose a criminal case that has occurred in NSW within the past 10 years. It must be an indictable offence. The cases should raise issues concerning effectiveness and efficiency of the criminal justice system in achieving justice.

2. Compulsory review of the Sef Gonzalezs case. Regina v Gonzales (2004) NSWSC 822 . See attached court transcript

3. Research the case using a variety of sources (see resource list below).

4. You are to write a REPORT that should include, where applicable:

· Facts: Briefly state the facts of the non compulsory case. (Do not spend too much time on this section)

· Parties involved in your chosen case.

· Jurisdiction i.e. original, appellate, court etc in your chosen case.

· Defences used by the accused in both cases. Explain the reasoning for using this defence.

· Analyse of the outcome of both trials.

· Discuss the sentencing or sanctions given and the objective the judge was trying to achieve in both cases. Both trials

· Evaluate the effectiveness of the criminal justice system in achieving justice in both of these cases. (Spend most of your time on this part approx 800 words)

5. Include a bibliography (not included in word limit)

6. A word limit applies to this research task. Your report must be at least 1,200 words long BUT must not exceed 2,000 words.

okay i think its pretty good, its completly different what we had to do for school however, we had a speech and yeah, speechs are easy to ace cause all u have to do is be confident, but in writing the teachers can see what u re actually getting at so well done...some good pointers as well
