can anyone tell me what the required presentation is for the Short Story Major Work? I know it's size 12 font, Times or Arial, but does anyone know if the editing (space between dialogues) makes a difference? Can anyone please give me a site from the Board indicating these requirements...thanx heaps

good luck

i have the requirements infront of me now, (from the board)

short stories

6000-8000 word limit (not include reflection statement)
double spacing ( although most use 1.5 spacing, up to you i guess)
each page must be numbered
cover sheet with title, form, student number, and centre number

thats it

how you format your dialogue is totally up to you, of course those taking a more unconventional approach have more unconventional formating
the most important thing is to be consistent, and if you do something incredibly unusual, refer to it in your reflection statement

good luck to you too

oh by the way, its best if you have your work bound, and remember not to put your final reflection statement in your journal, ( it pisses the markers off, when they can't find it) it really ought to be bound with your work

what do u mean exactly by 'bound'... i think mine will probably just be stapled.. does that really matter?

and - i thought i read somewhere that the name of your MW and your student number should be in the footer of every page, is that right?...

Im going to bind it with those ring things.......too many pages for a folder. I know the pages need to be numbered, but do we need our student and centre numbers on every page?

Our school is binding ours for us. :)
I found out last week.
It surprised me, but the teachers said the photocopying lady always does it so she was going to do it for us.

so our student numbers and the name of our MW doesnt have to be in the footer of every page? ...

a teacher who taught the subject last year has written out a series of things that we need to do (inc. the above):
- the total word count has to be put at the bottom of the composition - i havent found that anywhere on the bos website?...
- the word count of the reflection statement has to be at the bottom of that
- the bibliography should be separate, not part of the reflection statement or the journal...

eh?... im so confused...

i'm getting mine bound

as far as i know cover page has your number, centre number, medium and title, at the bottom of each page you just need the number of the page

putting story with reflection statement following it and bibliography (if we must) in journal (which they wont even look at)
all too complicated for me!
