Any news on the HSC Maths syllabus development? Are the BoS still insisting on including the CLT without the necessary recourse to Fourier transforms or characteristic functions?

The Board of Studies did a presentation today. Both the CLT and confidence intervals are gone.

The Writing Brief will go up onto the BOS website soon. The ones there now are only drafts.

Phase 2 of the project is now finished and the new Phase 3 will start (writing of the Draft Syllabus, then the syllabus, and approval by the Board and Minister.) Phase 4 will be implementation for Year 11 in 2010.

I'll put some more stuff up later on the conference and syllabus development.
